“AQ for Leaders”
(Full-Day). When it comes to today’s adversity-rich
environment, leadership competencies only go so far. Many of the
most “competent” leaders fall short in the face of adversity.
Tough times are the true test of every leader.
When are you at your best? How effectively do you make decisions,
solve problems, innovate, keep cool, remain focused, execute and
lead others in the most difficult circumstances?
Today’s leaders must successfully guide
their people through good times and bad, through smooth terrain
and adversity.
The Leadership Vision
Your leaders now possess, demonstrate, and operate
with a superior level of resilience. Their ability to respond effectively
to whatever comes their way inspires new levels of agility, innovation,
and performance. They generate possibilities in even the worst circumstances,
inspiring those around them to take on uncommon levels of accountability,
and execute effectively. The new “excuse-free” environment
invites others to step up and get things done.
Program Description
The high-energy, high-involvement program dispels
many of the common assumptions about leadership and equips leaders
with the real-time tools and mindset required to inspire the best
in others, even in the worst of times. The program consists of four
modules:
Discovery. The day begins with
the major revelation that a person’s leadership AQ has a profound
ripple effect upon his or her team and enterprise. We explore the
gap between conventional assumptions about leadership effectiveness
and what it takes to demonstrate exceptional resilience. Self-assessment,
discussion, and challenges create a wisdom-packed morning.
Measurement. Participants measure,
graph, and interpret their “leadership AQ,” with full
results, metrics, and implications for becoming a more resilient
leader.
Improvement. We apply and practice
advanced, leadership-level, AQ-improvement skills at the individual,
dyadic, and team levels. Participants learn and demonstrate the
dramatic contrast between normal- and high-AQ leadership.
Integration. Participants explore
ways to integrate the AQ leadership principles and practices into
their existing culture, processes, systems, and business imperatives...
and compelling opportunities to weave AQ into existing values, norms,
and desired outcomes.
Outcomes
Leaders who complete the AQ for Leaders program:
Making it Stick—Reinforcing the Tools
Participants engage in a “leaders’
climb” for 90 days immediately following the completion of
the 1-day session. This e-mail and web-driven process requires them
to reinforce, apply, and build their leadership AQ skills along
the way. All leaders have the opportunity to measure their progress
90 days after the session to measure how far they have come and
identify areas they have left to work on going forward.
